Hello.

I qualified as a Speech Therapist in 2012, and spent the next ten years in busy NHS Departments in East London, Yorkshire, and Warwickshire.

I set up my independent practice in 2022. I now support children with complex communication disabilities in mainstream schools.

I value Autistic social communication styles. I don’t work on traditional ‘social skills’ programmes with neurodivergent children. We love lining up toys. We love special interests and stimming. We do not need to sit still to listen. We do not need to look into someone’s eyes to communicate with them. There is no one ‘correct’ way to learn. No neurodivergent child should be taught to act more neurotypical for the comfort of others.

I follow a trauma-informed approach. I support children to express themselves authentically, in whichever way works best for them. In my work with all children and their families, I prioritise connection over compliance.

Autism, ADHD, and other minority neurotypes are disabilities that come with a range of challenges, as well as strengths - but they are not medical “disorders” in need of “curing”. They are part of the diverse range of human experience, and deserve robust support and understanding.
